About a month before Kirryn and Terry came out to Fiji to get married I received an email from Kirryn telling me about how she was thinking about “Trashing Her Dress”. I couldn’t have been more excited, although I didn’t want to get my hopes up since she was just in the “thinking about it” stage. She said she needed to get past the whole keeping it forever thing but she knew she wanted Amazing photos more.
Kirryn sent me a photo of what her dressed looked like and it wasn’t one of those typical destination “beachy” wedding dresses. It was full on. Kirryn’s gorgeous dress was by Airs and Grace and was absolutely stunning! All I could think about was how amazing it would look underwater, with so many layers flowing gracefully in Fiji’s crystal clear water. I’m pretty sure I danced around my house when I got the go ahead to book the boat out for Kirryn and Terry’s Trash the dress session!
I know, I know… enough talk let’s get on to the good stuff! Here are a few of my favorites from our session, as you can see I had a hard time narrowing it down!
I wanted to ease them into it so we started an completely dry ground just to get warmed up 🙂
And we slowly got closer and closer to trashing the dress!
Now they’re really getting warm! A little bit steamy!
In the above photo a bit of a swell surprised us all (please excuse the crazy angle I was moving to try and protect my non waterproof camera gear).
I love Kirryn’s Face in this though!
These next few might be my favorite. Kirryn and Terry: Could you two be any more gorgeous? Seriously.
We had to jump in the water to cool things down a bit!
We started in the shallow water just off of the sand bar.
I knew that in order to get those beautiful Deep Blue water shots, we would need to get into deep water. We went out to the drop off just beyond the reef and got some AMAZING shots!
There are so many in there that I would call my favorites!
You can see why I had such a hard time narrowing it down!
In case you were wondering, the dress wasn’t truly “trashed”. It was cleaner than when we started, so it was somewhat of a pre wash 🙂
Kirryn has told me that there are a few grains of sand under one of the top layers but other than that it is perfectly fine! She was just able to take a little bit of Fiji home with her!
Kirryn & Terry,
Thank you once again for being absolutely amazing!
You two were rock stars in the water and total troopers swimming in all of that wedding attire!
I hope that these photos made it worth it to trash your dress, you look fabulous!!!
xoxo
