Have you ever dreamt of being whisked away to a private island to marry your one true love?  Well Matt and Nicola made that dream a reality when they flew out to the Royal Davui Resort to have their beautiful Fiji wedding.  When Nicola first contacted me about being their wedding photographer I was so excited to have the chance to go out to Royal Davui.  I had seen photos and could tell there was something magical about the place.

  Matt & Nicola Came out to Fiji to get married without the company of Family and friends.  Having family in both the UK and Australia, planning a wedding that accommodated both would be difficult.  Fiji was the answer.  While they longed for family to be able to share in the joy of their union, they were happy to have this special time just the two of them.  It was simple, and Nicola enjoyed the fact that the only decision she had to make was which way to wear her dress…  mind you, this dress could be worn 18 different ways 🙂  Enough of my words, you didn’t come here to hear me blab…  let’s get to the good stuff!

I think Nicola chose the perfect way to wear it, she looks absolutely gorgeous!

Getting ready in the same space is definitely a new one for me, and I love how it allowed me to get this little gem.

There was no nervous groom waiting at the alter, Matt & Nicola were together every step of the way.

I loved both of their rings.  Matt had taken the diamond from his grandmother’s necklace and had it re-set into this ring he designed for Nicola.

And Matt’s ring has their wedding date inscribed on the outside in roman numerals.  Love it!

If they were nervous before the ceremony, all of that melted away completely once they were husband and wife.  I just love the joy written all over both of their faces!

Matt, you lucky man!  Just look at your beautiful wife!

Nicola & Matt really wanted to get some underwater trash the dress photos and the rain settled in over the island after we had finished our post ceremony photos.  So, we were up dark and early to make a run out to the Sand Quay, a few minutes boat ride from the island.  As we were waiting for our captain, the sun was just coming up over the horizon and painted this beautiful sky for us!  I’m so glad we were still on island for this so we could get the contrast of the island’s silhouette.

Now into the water!  Nicola & Matt were incredible!  They were so good in the water and just look perfect!  I am still amazed at how well they composed themselves underwater.  Beautiful faces, relaxed bodies, and no air bubbles!

Nicola you look like you belong under water!  So at ease and simply stunning!
