The Wedding venue for Meagan and Nick needed to tick all the boxes.  Great views, spacious rooms and the option to buyout the resort so only friends and family were present.  They couldn’t have found a better spot.  After months of planning all the details were ready for this Wananavu Beach Resort Fiji wedding.

A 2 1/2 drive north takes you through some of Fiji’s lesser seen countryside.  The sea level road jumps suddenly through a weaving accent over the rolling hills between Lautoka and Ba Town.  The homes are simple and far apart and most are attached to a large acreage of sugar cane.  Sugar production is Fiji’s number two money earner, second only to tourism.  Hand-painted wooden signs advertise things like,  “Hand pounded Kava,” “Fiji’s Best Indian Sweets, and our personal favorite, “goat for sale.”  The sights you see on this drive are an authentic representation of rural Fiji life.

Once at the entry of Wananavu beach resort, you are overwhelmed by stunning elevated views.  The property sprawls across a stony hillside overlooking an emerald windswept bay.  Green and yellow coconut trees densely cover the walkways like 100’s and 1000’s sprinkled on a birthday cake.  The sweet perfume of blossoming frangipani cascade down upon the concrete pathways while Maina birds sing their favorite tune.  All this and more created the backdrop for this unforgettable day.

Sheltered from the trade winds was a black rock cove where Meagan and Nick exchanged promises with each other.  Champaign popped and music played.  White lights illuminated hanging lanterns as heartfelt speeches and toast were given.  It was a beautiful day in one of Fiji’s most authentic locations and and evening no guest will soon forget.
